Welcome to Cambridge, Wisconsin, and the Lake Ripley area! Whether your idea of fun and relaxation is a hike or bike ride on our CamRock trail system, a shopping stroll down our historic Main Street or a stay in one of our welcoming B&Bs for an overnight of dining, sipping and relaxation, there’s plenty to choose from in beautiful, historic Cambridge, Wisconsin.

SHOPPING & DINING

Founded with a flour and feed mill in 1847, visitors today enjoy quaint bricked buildings filled with modern shopping, artisan finds, pottery, boutiques and plenty of coffee, wine, beer and dining. Stroll through Rowe Pottery and Voyagers Jewelry Design – Cambridge mainstays for over 40 years. Explore the shops at the beautifully refurbished historic Galleria 214 (our former wagon factory) to enjoy a gourmet brewed cup of coffee, your favorite latte, delicious eats and treats, and discover an array of treasures including “gifts from the Earth” from Ruby Rose Gallery. Boutique lovers delight at the unique retail and gift shops up and down Main Street. Visit the Cambridge Winery for a wine tasting and Dancing Goat Distillery for locally crafted spirits. Grab a bite at CC’s Sandwiches, the Keystone Grill, Plow, or any of our unique local eateries.

RECREATION

The crystal clear, spring-fed waters of Cambridge’s Lake Ripley are ideal for swimming, power-boating, canoeing, jet skiing, waterskiing, sailing and fishing. A true sportsman’s paradise, Lake Ripley boasts the Wisconsin state record for large mouth bass. Enjoy a day at the beach at Lake Ripley Park with basketball courts, playground, tennis courts, and a disc golf-course.

Cambridge’s CamRock County Park, located along the banks of the Koshkonong Creek, is a sprawling 422 acre park featuring three shelters, play equipment, a canoe/kayak launch, a massive sledding hill, and prairie restorations. The extensive trails system at CamRock Park (suitable for biking, hiking, running, cross-country skiing, and show-shoeing) is a blend of wide and fast flowing trails that run through open fields, wooded single-track and advanced single-track. CamRock also features an expert loop which is considered one of the best off-road trails in the area. Photographers, birders, and nature enthusiasts will love walking the park and enjoying the area’s beauty all year round. Looking to expand your day of play? Bicyclists can spend a few hours or an entire day exploring nearby Glacial Drumlin State Bike Trail and peaceful country roads.

THE ARTS

Cambridge is an artisan community with many rural art studios, a thriving Arts Council, and a tradition of hosting fabulous artist tours and events. Enjoy a theatrical performance in the historic gym of the Cambridge Historic School Museum listed on both the Wisconsin and National Registers of Historic Places. See pottery being made at the new Rowe Pottery studio on historic Main Street. Mark your calendars for the unforgettable Midwest Fire Fest hosted in Cambridge every summer, and the Earth, Wood & Fire Artist Tour every fall.
