Building on its 100-year history in the grocery business, Piggly Wiggly Midwest continues to grow the Piggly Wiggly banner. Currently the Company operates corporate stores and services independent franchisees under a chain-style program. This program combines the strength and consistency of chain style centralized buying and merchandising with the locally tailored entrepreneurial management [skills, charm, hospitality and attention] of a community-based retailer. Mike and Amy Day opened the Cambridge Piggly Wiggly in August 2002 which is a full service grocery store serving Cambridge and the surrounding communities. The Day’s goal is to be supportive to all non-profit organizations in the schools and the community as a whole. They accomplish this through our Piggy Bank Program and their many donations for raffle prizes and other events. Mike and Amy are annual sponsors for the Sports Boosters Golf Outing and the Cambridge Music Booster Club. They support the Cambridge Food Pantry with their Stamp out Hunger Program and the Deerfield Food Pantry with the donation drop box located in the lobby of the Cambridge Piggly Wiggly. Mike and Amy also support countless other organizations through the donation of raffle prizes or the use of the store’s lobby and sidewalk area for fundraisers and cookouts.
